Dicerna Pharmaceuticals is a private, venture-backed biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutic agents in multiple therapeutic areas based on its proprietary Dicer Substrate Technology™, which triggers RNA interference (RNAi) in a potent and specific manner.

The technology upon which Dicerna is based was discovered by Dicerna co-founders John Rossi, Ph.D., a Professor in the Division of Molecular Biology and Dean, Graduate School of Biological Sciences at City of Hope's Beckman Research Institute in Duarte, California, and Mark Behlke, M.D., Ph.D., at Integrated DNA Technologies in Coralville, Iowa.

Dicerna has raised a total of $21.4 million in venture capital led by Oxford Bioscience Partners, Skyline Ventures and Abingworth. Dicerna is led by seasoned biotechnology industry veterans including Douglas M. Fambrough, Ph.D., CEO, Roberto Guerciolini, M.D., SVP Pharmaceutical Development, Bob D. Brown, Ph.D., SVP Research, and Martin Williams, SVP and Chief Business Officer.
